Both art quilts and traditional quilts are welcome in fabric and other media. Diverse designs, materials, and techniques are desired, from traditional to cutting edge. Lark Books seeks high-quality images of jewelry featuring gems and stones to publish in an international juried collection. Diverse materials, from rough, natural stones to fully faceted precious gems, are desired. All design and setting styles are welcome. All jewelry forms, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and brooches will be considered. There is no entry fee.

PRETTY LITTLE MINI QUILTS

Pretty Little Mini Quilts (working title) will feature quilts (mini quilts!) no more than 36” in length or height, made from cotton, silks, linen, felt, wool, and other fabrics. We seek proposals for projects that are original, pretty, imaginative, charming, adorable, whimsical, humorous, funky, edgy, or precious. Scheduled for release in early spring 2010, Pretty Little Mini Quilts will contain 30-35 projects geared to beginner and intermediate quilters. The projects should be made by hand or with a standard sewing machine, from readily available fabrics.

GREEN BOOKMAKING

Gallery Entry Deadline: September 15, 2008
Lark Books is seeking images to feature in the gallery of an upcoming publication, Green Bookmaking. Scheduled for release in fall 2009, this book will feature attractive, innovative book projects that—in some way—use recycled materials for the cover and/or pages. The use of other recycled materials (stitching, binding, etc) is encouraged, but not required. The use of post-consumer pages is also encouraged, as is the mindful use and consumption of new materials. The book’s focus is on the use of green materials, and projects will cover a wider range of style and function—beautiful, funky, elegant, fun, and provocative.
